The SS Peter and Paul Cathedral is an artistic and cultural monument of international importance. The late Romanesque and Gothic Cathedral goes back to the 13th century. The most impressive details are the west-rood-screen with the Passion relief and the features life-sized figures depicting the twelve founders of the Cathedral (including two famous couples, Ekkehard and Uta, and Herrman and Reglindis). Its valuable interior includes some glass windows from the Middle Ages, the east rood-screen and a late Romanesque crypt. Guided tours in German language: march-oct.: 10.00 a.m., 2.00 and 5.00 p.m. nov.-febr.: 11.00 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. Guided tours in English for groups with reservation. Regular concerts.
